There's a smelter in that Orc place with the Ebony and Windhelm. dragon roost near Riften, which also has a radiant quest attached to it. also you could just fast travel to somewhere that has a smelter. All mines have smelters usually very close by, once you find them you can fast travel to them when you need to smelt.I have a Logitech MX518 mouse and I set the M4 button to be the sheath/drop button.
